How much will it cost to go to Disney World? A one day adult ticket starts at $119 before tax, per Disney’s ticket page. On one July 2026 date, one park charged $190.64 with tax. Kids ages 3 to 9 pay only about $5 less, and children under 3 get in free. Hotels, food, and getting there come on top.

Most cost guides hand you one big total. This one shows the pieces that set your price, so you can build the number for your own group. For money saving moves, see our guide to Orlando theme parks on a budget. Here, we focus on what things cost and why.
Use it in three steps. First, count who is under 3, who is 3 to 9, and who is 10 or older. Second, price your dates and your park. Third, add tax, lodging, meals, and travel from the sections below.

How Much Will It Cost to Go to Disney World for One Day?
Ticket prices depend on the date and on which park you pick. The same day can cost you very different amounts.
The park operator’s own planning team shared a July 14, 2026 example, with tax included. Here is what it showed, according to its planning Q&A.
| Guest age | Lower priced park | Higher priced park |
| Ages 10 and up | $169.34 | $190.64 |
| Ages 3 to 9 | $164.01 | $185.31 |
| Under 3 | Free | Free |
Those two parks sit $21.30 apart per person on that date. For a family of four, choosing the lower priced park saves $85.20.
These are examples for one date, not a price list. Your date and park will land somewhere else, so check the ticket calendar before you plan.
Your Group’s Ages Change the Bill
Ticket price depends on who is in your group. Four age rules do most of the work.
Children Under 3 Are Free
Disney says children under 3 do not need a theme park ticket, per its ticket Q&A. If you travel with a baby or toddler, leave that child out of your ticket count.
Ages 3 to 9 Save About $5
Do not expect a big kid discount. In the July 14 example, the child price was only $5.33 lower than the adult price. That gap held at both parks.
Age 10 Is the Line
Guests ages 10 and up pay the adult price. A child who turns 10 before your trip adds about $5 per park day.
There Is No Senior Discount
Disney says it does not offer senior discounts on tickets. It suggests checking with any groups you belong to, since they may have special offers.
Taxes: The Cost Added After the Price Tag
Florida adds tax to your tickets and your hotel room. The rate depends on what you buy and which county you are in.
| Purchase | State tax | County charges | Total in Orange County |
| Theme park tickets | 6% | 0.5% surtax | 6.5% |
| Hotel rooms | 6% | 0.5% surtax plus 6% tourist tax | 12.5% |
The Florida Department of Revenue lists Orange County’s surtax at 0.5%. The Orange County Comptroller sets the tourist tax at 6%.
You can check the ticket math yourself. The $190.64 price is $179 plus 6.5% tax. The $169.34 price is $159 plus the same tax.
Tax adds up fast for a group. A one day family ticket for two adults and two kids carries $40.70 in tax at the lower priced park. At the higher priced park, tax adds $45.90. A $145 hotel night carries $18.13 in tax, or about $72.50 over four nights.
Osceola County, just south, charges a 1.5% surtax instead. Check which county your hotel sits in, because the rate can differ.

Hotels and Meals: A Federal Yardstick for Orlando
Hotel rates change by resort and by date, so we do not guess at them here. Our guide to cheap hotels in Orlando under $200 and our guide on where to stay in Orlando cover the options and the areas.
For a neutral baseline, look at the federal government. The General Services Administration sets daily rates for traveling federal workers in Orange County.
For the federal year that began October 1, 2026, GSA lists $145 for one night of lodging. It lists $80 a day per traveler for meals and incidentals, including tips. Confirm the current figures in GSA’s lookup tool, since rates can shift by month.
The local market does shift by season. In fiscal year 2026, GSA’s Orange County lodging rate rose from $140 to $169 from January through March.
With room tax, that $145 night costs $163.13. Treat these numbers as yardsticks, not park prices. Food inside the parks follows each park’s own menus, so look at menu prices before you go.
Getting There Costs Real Money Too
If You Fly
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics reports an average domestic itinerary fare of $428 for the first quarter of 2026. That is the highest first quarter on record. A family of four would spend about $1,712 at that average, and your route will differ.
If You Drive
The IRS sets 72.5 cents per mile for 2026. That rate reflects the fixed and variable costs of running a car. A 1,000 mile round trip works out to $725. Your gas bill alone will run lower, because the rate also covers costs beyond gas.
| Travel choice | Cost basis | Example |
| Fly, per person | $428 average domestic itinerary fare | $1,712 for four people |
| Drive, per car | 76 cents per mile | $760 for 1,000 miles |
Which One Wins?
At those rates, driving costs less than four average airfares up to about 2,250 miles round trip. For two people, the break even is about 1,130 miles. Long drives add hotel nights and time, so count those too.
A One Day Budget You Can Check Line by Line
Here is one park day and one hotel night for three groups. It uses only the numbers above, with a range for the lower and higher priced park.
| Group | Tickets | Meals benchmark | Room with tax | Total |
| Solo adult | $169.34 to $190.64 | $80 | $163.13 | $412.47 to $433.77 |
| Couple | $338.68 to $381.28 | $160 | $163.13 | $661.81 to $704.41 |
| Family of four, kids ages 3 to 9 | $666.70 to $751.90 | $320 | $163.13 | $1,149.83 to $1,235.03 |
Add your flight or drive from the earlier table. The meals line uses the federal benchmark for every traveler, so a family with small eaters may spend less.
For longer trips, do not just multiply. Disney’s planning team says multi day tickets cost less per day than one day tickets. So these totals run high for a longer stay.
Build the boring parts first. The ticket gets all the attention, but taxes and travel decide whether the plan holds.” Leslie Nics, TraveValueFinder.com
A Four Night Stay Before You Add Tickets
Tickets depend on your dates and your number of days. So here is the rest of a four night trip, built from the same yardsticks.
| Group | Four nights, one room, with tax | Four days of meals | Total before tickets and travel |
| Solo adult | $652.52 | $320 | $972.52 |
| Couple | $652.52 | $640 | $1,292.52 |
| Family of four | $652.52 | $1,280 | $1,932.52 |
The family row assumes one room, which may not fit every family. Add tickets for your dates from Disney’s ticket calendar. Then add your flight or drive.
Four Number Traps to Avoid
Comparing before and after tax. A ticket listed at $119 before tax costs $126.74 with 6.5% tax. Compare prices on the same basis.
Treating a benchmark as a price. The federal lodging and meals rates are allowances for government travel. They are not hotel or restaurant prices.
Multiplying one day tickets. That overstates a multi day trip, because per day prices fall as you add days.
Mixing per person and per group numbers. Tickets and meals count each person. A hotel room counts once per night.
Why Today’s Price May Not Hold
Disney’s annual report says average spending per guest at its domestic parks rose 5% in fiscal 2025. Hotel occupancy was 87%, up from 85% a year earlier.
The report counts ticket, food, drink, and merchandise sales divided by attendance. Prices are date based, so a small shift in your dates can change your total. Check the calendar before you commit.
Five Questions to Answer Before You Book
Who is under 3? Those children need no ticket. That saves the full ticket price for every park day.
Who turns 10 before you go? Each of them moves to the adult price.
Which park matters most? Price changes by park and by date. Ask what you would skip to save $21 per person.
Fly or drive? Use the break even above, then add hotel nights for long drives.
Which county is your hotel in? Tax differs by county, so check before you book.
